Tips on Choosing All-Inclusive Resorts for Families

We understand that you take your family vacations very seriously, and one must. After all, it’s precious quality time spent with your family members. However, planning is not always a piece of cake. You want to make sure each family member feels included and has something fun to do while being safe, all while ensuring the trip fits within your family-holiday budget. That is why we’ve put together a list of tips on how to choose the best all inclusive resorts for families!

What Are You Looking for?

Most people don’t know where to start, which can get tricky. You can’t go about shortlisting the type of resort without knowing what kind of holiday you want. Typically, all families want a little luxury without exceeding their budget too much, sprinkled with a lot of activities (suited for all members of the family) and a little bit of relaxation. Honestly, the one solution that fits this bill is an all-inclusive resort, you literally have everything on deck.

Now that you’ve narrowed that down, how does one go about picking the best all-inclusive family resort? There are just so many options…

Entertainment & Food

This should always be high up on your priority list, especially if you have a family with children. The trouble with children is that they cannot go 10 minutes without being on their feet; entertainment for them is a must almost at all times. What is the best way to keep them occupied all the time? Pick a resort that has tonnes of activities for children. Many resorts have plenty of water parks, surf simulators, DJ classes, arcade games, you name it!

As for the entertainment segment, many resorts offer magic shows, kids & dance parties, and many other fun activities for them to partake in. Even if the resort has a pool or a beach where the kids can build sandcastles, that sounds ideal. As long as you don’t have to put in the extra effort to keep them entertained at all times, there’s really no single best all-inclusive resort for families!

Kid-friendly food is no joke. Everyone who has children knows how knit-picky they can be about their food choices. When on vacation, most families let go a little and indulge in not so healthy eating habits, which is fine. But making sure your kids are fine with this change and have something they like on the menu is crucial, especially if your duration of vacationing lasts a few weeks. But thankfully, most family resorts come with tiringly-long kid-friendly food options, so you should be fine.

Tip: Make sure to be on top of your kid’s food allergies and such while taking them to buffet bars. You may be on vacation but as a parent/guardian, you’re never really on vacation.

Shallow & Peaceful Waters

No matter the weather, it is almost understood that a vacation demands the waves. If you want to just kick back with your family and relax on the beach, the best all-inclusive family resort should be along the sea. While you’re here, make sure to take your kids to shallow and calm waters, so that you don’t have to monitor their every movement and can actually take some time for yourself. Besides, this is also a great way to introduce snorkeling to the little ones. If you have an older child who wants to try their hand at surfing big waves, find the best all-inclusive family resort that has surf simulators (many of them do now).

Fishing Out the Right Deal

For Tweens

Let’s get real here for a minute, being able to afford an actual vacation at one of the best all-inclusive family resorts sounds more idyllic than practical. Lucky for you, many top-end resorts and tour operators offer “free for kids” options, wherein children don’t have to pay, or 1 child/adult can enter for free, etc. The best thing you can do is take some time to do some quality research: check on multiple websites simultaneously to find yourself the best deal. Look out for special offers during spring break and summer vacation!

For Teens Most children aged 13 and above are considered adults by resorts, so if you’re a family of 4 with two teens, that means you’re paying the full cost of 4 adults. Consider your options and choose wisely, but note that some tour operators have all-year-long deals exclusively for teens. Again, do your research well.
